Free and fair help for your phone and internet complaints

We're an independent dispute resolution service helping consumers and small businesses in Australia.

Free resolution service

We help consumers and small businesses resolve complaints about phone and internet services. Our service is free and available to everyone in Australia.

Problems we can help with

Billing disputes, service faults, contract issues, connection problems, privacy concerns, credit management, and more — we cover a wide range of phone and internet issues.

Independent and fair

We're an independent organisation that doesn't take sides. We work to reach fair outcomes and advocate for improvements across the telecommunications industry.

Who are we and how we can help

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) is an independent dispute resolution body that helps consumers and small businesses resolve complaints about phone and internet services.

We're like a footy umpire — we don't take sides. Our goal is to help both parties reach a fair resolution. If they can't agree, we can make a decision that is binding on the service provider.
